I ordered wings, my spouse ordered the tuna melt. Delicious and prompt in getting our food, clean restrooms. Short staffed like everywhere else but we didn't notice. Here's an updated menu.
Sept 4th, 2020.... after strolling around Charlevoix, MI, it was time for lunch. They opened at 11:30 and we jumped up to the bar. With COVID-19 still hanging around, everyone wore their masks and kept things wiped down. We were greeted with a smiling face, bartender.... Jamie C. She was very attentive and had a great, friendly attitude. So, we ordered drinks and we decided to share a hamburger with bacon..(of course) and "in house" fries. The hamburger was seasoned very well (had to be the bacon..) & cooked perfectly to medium rare. Awesome !! Ohhh, the "in house" cross cut fries also had a very tasty seasoning on them. We don't know if ours was the first one off the grill but this was one of the BEST burgers we've had in awhile during our travels. Another cool thing, was the bar...... it was made from a half-hull & deck from a sailboat. Nicely varnished and pretty cool. Weather was good and they opened up the big front doors. Nice place to eat... indoors or out front. A definite PLUS.
We stopped in looking for a laid back restaurant by the water with decent vegetarian options. We were pleasantly surprised. We sat out front along the sidewalk at a small table and enjoyed the view and people watching. We tried the veggie burger (homemade quinoa and sweet potato patty) and the portobello sandwich with herbed goat cheese. Both were surprisingly good considering it's a tavern. The house salad for $6 was meh. Would have been nice as a side instead of chips or fries, but we had to pay extra for a really small plate of greens with a few small tomato and cucumber bites. Would totally return for the sandwiches though. We tried both the citrus vinegarette and the ranch dressing. Both were quite tasty. There's a cool rooftop bar on the third floor if you like that scene.
Fantastic Your business deserves many thanks. You respect your employees. By closing down due to unruly patrons you're showing the rest of the community that this behavior won't be tolerated. It's time for people to wake up to what civilization is all about. These past few years has shown too much of the ugly and those who think they're entitled. Congratulations
